Virtu Heads .. Who are these guys?

Virtu Heads - Tony, Karin + Kathryn

Earthbound Virtu the three people that make up Virtu, NOT to be confused with virtu-art. In the begining there was the idea to build a web site that would encompass the Art and Craft of South West Cork. Then came the name Virtu, the meaning of which seemed to express what we are about. But who are we? Well from left to right Tony, Karin + Kathryn.

When asked Tony will say that he is hoping to get into the art stuff, it's harder for him because he has not had any art training. But having said that he will be attending Rossa College from September enrolled on the Art, Craft + Design course. Both Karin and Kathryn were lucky enough to be taking the Art, Craft + Design couse over two years, and have both completed the first year. It means that we will all qualify at the same time.

Tony is looking forward to going out and looking at what South West Cork has to offer artistically, always looking for ispiration maybe Tony will be visiting you!. Main plan here is to go on the art course and learn something.

After years of working in the computer industry, (which is really boring), he wants to do something to earn a living that he would find interesting and that he would enjoy. As far as college is concearned Tony is looking forward to attending the Staind Glass class. He thinks that Batik may drive him crazy. (I wonder were he gets that idea from?)

Tony is also apart of the Virtu-Art website you have a duel role. Tony likes doing the web design but confesses that he does not like the stuff that I do. Finding the researching and building conten a chore.

The Zen of Seeing: Seeing Drawing The Zen of Seeing: Seeing Drawing as Meditation
Review: This is a fascinating book that stimulates one to observe the beauty of life's everyday processes and to record these experiences in the form of simpledrawings -- sketches that need not be exact, are often indistinct, yet capture some intricate details to reveal the beauty of nature. This is a very "warm and friendly" book with a very rustic, imaginative style, and is very readable. The expressions in this book have stimulated the interest of almost all who have picked it up- my sons aged 14 and 8, my daughter aged 4, a computer programmer, a cancer patient in the ward, a nurse, and therapist and others from all walks of life - the artist within all of us !

Then there is me Karin I am the creator and editor of Virtu-art.biz. What you see on the virtu pages has been generated by handcraft into exsistance. As to my role well I am the one who will really be visiting you. If you are an artist or have a great craft outlet or gallery. I am always looking for relevant editorial.

When Kathryn and I started back into education it was with the thought to generate some income out of it in the furure. This we anticipate will take a number of forms. Our first venture has been in artisically tie-dying t-shirts for sale at a local festival. Just testing the market. Kathryn and I will bringing Batiks to the market next. We are very open to new ideas and will try many things to broaden our experience.

The Tao of Watercolour The Tao of Watercolour: A Revolutionary Approach to the Practice of Painting
This is a guide showing painters how to approach the act of painting in a fully conscious manner that can prepare the way for continued artistic growth without the usual stumbling blocks or tedium. Applying the principles presented in the "Tao Te Ching", the book shows painters how to unite spirit, mind and body to achieve inspired craftsmanship in their works
