Van Maanen's original use of painting materials, such as dry pigments combined with the weather (rainfull) has created a distinct personal style. Colours are clear and austere. Van Maanen has lived and worked in Ireland since 1993. Since I am using more dry pigments in my smaller paintings I intend to work with more different colours. So after 25 years it's not only blue and black anymore. |
