Title: Misty Dreams of Tomorrow
Size: 51 x 38 Medium Porcelain with lustres this work required a three firing process
Price: € 290

Artists Statement: My pieces are based on kitchen and gardening utensils made in a mixed media of paper porcelain, woven wire, carved Irish birch and ash. Taking influences from my rural background and the close associations of my family to the seasons, the earth and food; my father was a market gardener, my uncle a blacksmith in Youghal, East Cork. The series of porcelain sculptures, framed in groups or plainly hung on the wall from rusted nails, pay homage to the understanding held by a local community that led me to appreciate and respect the land we take from daily. The pieces record the teachings and the traditional rural style of living in Ireland.
