Artist Statement: My current art work is the result of detailed studies of natural subjects. In these
studies I explore hidden characters and shapes and give them a life of their own.
Oil painting and stone carving have also been important materials in my art practice where I have explored similar themes whilst
incorporating the human figure and urban themes. Although I completed a certificate in art in 1993, my work since then has developed
through my own exploration and has been influenced my many factors , most notably travel and my work as an art facilitator and
community artist in Dublin and West Cork.
