Virtu - Art suggests that you visit Enchanted in Skibbereen :-)

It all started when Sharon went to Scotland to study Textiles + Fashion, specializing in knitwear in her second year. In her third year she won an award for one of her ideas for the fashion industry which incorporated copper into the garments for aiding sufferers of Rheumatism. This idea won a National UK competition in Design.

After graduating Sharon worked down in Baltimore for three years producing a range of Knitwear but after a while Sharon craved control of her own designs and wanting to do something for herself she decided to open Enchanted a place where she could produce and showcase her own Designer Knitwear Range. Starting out making Hats.

In the beginning especially she knew it would be difficult, when you are used to getting a wage every week. Sharon was determined to go it alone. From her experience with The Glebe Gallery Workshop in Baltimore she got to know a lot of the artists and craft people in the area. Enchanted was opened in November 2006 gradually Sharon has built her business up and is now offering up over 30 different Artist's and Craft peoples work. Sharon is usually open to all kinds of Art + Craft work in her shop as long as they can be displayed well.

Enchanted is also going to host a Gallery soon so that paintings and photographs can be shown. This addition should be open any day now.

Enchanted is full of the Best of West Cork's Arts + Craft
